of governments, corporations, and organizations large and small."
The GHG Management Institute is a nonprofit organization
focused on training and education. It was founded by GHG Experts
Network and ClimateCHECK, in partnership with World Resources Institute,
Carbon Disclosure Project and Govida eLearning. It is working closely
with the World Resources Institute in developing a series of courses
related to the GHG Protocol, as well as other organizations such
as Clear Carbon Consulting, and Abatement Solutions in developing
new courses and programs.
The Dean of the Institute is Michael Gillenwater. The Managing
Director is Gao Pronove. Tom Baumann is the Director of Professional
Programs.
Greenhouse Gas Experts Network – Michael
Gillenwater, one of the world’s foremost experts in GHG accounting,
formed a global network of experts (GEN - GHG
Experts Network) in 2006. This is a community of experts in
the methodologies and systems for quantifying greenhouse gas emissions,
whose aim is to professionalize and improve the capacity of experts
working on greenhouse gas inventory, monitoring, and verification
issues.
ClimateCHECK
is an established leader of innovative GHG management services and
products that achieve the double dividends of environmental and
economic benefits. ClimateCHECK collaborates with a large network
of research and not-for-profit organizations in working with companies
to develop the knowledge and tools to manage GHG risks and opportunities.
